Getting a visa after arriving at Abu Dhabi International Airport has now become easier. The officials announced that they have opened a new visa-on-arrival counter at the airport. Both arriving and transit passengers can avail this service at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. The new service is installed at the Terminal 3 transit area. You can avail a four-day or 96 hours transit visa at the new facility as well.
Abu Dhabi’s Department of Culture and Tourism Ministry and Foreigners Affairs Ministry, General Directorate of Residence, Abu Dhabi Airports, and Etihad Airways announced it in a joint session. The new counter is a part of UAE’s Life in Abu Dhabi initiative in an attempt to enrich tourist experience. Life in Abu Dhabi is an initiative undertaken by Government Services Office and is a yearly gathering. The initiative is all about developing Abu Dhabi’s public sector and its services.
Only those who don’t fall under the “visa upon arrival” category can use this service. The officials assure that you’ll get your transit visa or arriving visa within 30 minutes maximum. Any country national can apply for a transit visa now. The service was earlier only open to nationals of certain countries. Brigadier Mansour Ahmed Ali Al Dhaheri, Director-General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Ministry, said that the new visa system will boost the country’s economy, tourism sector, and education quality.
Praising Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways Executive Vice President, Mohammad Al Bulooki, said that Etihad Airways offers a vacation within a vacation. So if you are landing in Abu Dhabi to catch a connecting flight, you can very well convert it into a vacation. If you book a seat with Etihad, you get a complimentary stay of one night in Abu Dhabi. It is a great initiative by Etihad Airways and visitors love the extra pampering.
