On April 19, 2018, UK Visas and Immigration Services announced that it will open special priority visa service centers in Pune and Bangalore in India. This fast-track visa service helps Indian passport holders get the UK travel visa within 24 hours. It is an entirely optional service and should only be used during an emergency. Known as the Super Priority Visa service, it carries on the approval process using the same standards but is handled at highest priority by UK Visas and Immigration, thereby, delivering it in just 24 hours.
The release confirmed that with their dedicated staff, processing cases at the top of the priority list and an express courier service ensures a quick response to the clients. It means that a 24-hour turnaround is secure and achievable. Other than Pune and Bangalore, the UK Visas and Immigration Services has offices in Mumbai, Chennai, and Delhi. Caroline Nokes, Immigration Minister of United Kingdom, said that she is pleased they were able to extend Super Priority Visa service to two more Indian cities, giving even more Indians to travel to the country during times of emergency.
British High Commission said that opening two more Super Priority Visa service centers as a part of UK – India Technology Partnership, which also includes establishing tech clusters in important Indian cities. This puts India and the United Kingdom as a step towards achieving goals set forth by UK Visas and Immigration. Digital technology and additional optional services for Indian citizens are two significant parts of the partnership.
