If you have a valid or expired visa (maximum 10 years) of the USA, the UK, Schengen countries, Australia, Canada, or Japan you can get a Travel Authorization Certificate that is issued online from the Taiwan government. According to Taiwan Tourism Bureau India Office, if you have earlier traveled to Taiwan for business, leisure, or education then you will also get a Travel Authorization Certificate. Getting the certificate means you don’t need to apply for a visa every time you visit Taiwan.
Travel Authorization Certificate is also applicable to passport holders of the Vietnam, Myanmar, Philippines, Indonesia, Lao, and Cambodia.
Free visas if you are traveling in a group
Until 2016, group tours weren’t allowed in Taiwan. But now they are. Since the later half of 2016, Top-tier travel agents can take group tours to the Republic of China. Group visas are given free of costs to these travel agents. The Taiwan government initiated this project to increase international tourism in the country. The visa is valid for those who take part in leisure, MICE business activities, cruises, fly cruises, and incentives.
The group should at least have five or more people. The visa is only valid for 30 days. It is effective only for a single entry.
