United Kingdom Visa and Immigration have finally shifted its visa decision-making office from Bangkok to New Delhi. The government body announced the decision a while ago in 2017. The UK Embassy said that there would be no changes in the visa processing in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. All services provided and the procedure will remain the same. The only thing different will be that the decision-making authority’s office will be in New Delhi. The office was shifted to maximize work by using the latest technology and allow independent visa decision-making, according to the British Embassy. However, the embassy chose to not talk about any issues that were raised regarding VFS Global handling visa applications in Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Instead, the embassy said that it will standardize procedures all across the globe and is cost effective as well. Everything's the same. Visa applicants can send fill applications online and go for biometrics and documents at the VFS Global centers in Chiang Mai and Bangkok. VFS Global is an Indian company that is a specialist in outsourcing and technology services. It works for the government and diplomatic organizations around the world. After VFS Global, many such agencies erupted around the world. UK Visa & Immigration was VFS Global’s first client, and today the agency runs visa processing units in 33 countries for the government body.

Happy with the progress

Brian Davidson, United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Thailand, said that they are delighted with the recent development as shows the strength between the UK and Thailand. He said that he admires the love Thai people have for Great Britain, as they travel to the country often and also send their children to study. UKVI is an initiative by the government of Great Britain to ensure there is safe and secure visa processing, exceptional customer service, and every penny of tax paid by the citizens of UK.
