All over the world, the number of the Chinese going on tourist trips to the various tourist destinations in the world is on the rise. As a matter of fact, China has the highest number of citizens who patronize the tourism industries in other countries.
Going by the rate at which the Chinese love traveling, going on tourist’s trips and spending money on their tourist destinations, many countries are looking for ways to attract Chinese tourists to their countries. South Africa is one of them.
South Africa’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, on a recent visit to China, had one of the tasks as promoting South Africa and projecting it as an excellent tourist destination for the Chinese.
New South African visa centers in China
To make the visa application process more seamless and convenient for the Chinese, South Africa has gone ahead to open visa facilitation centers in up to 11 cities in China. These cities are Jinan, Shenyang, Guangzhou, Xian, Wuhan, Kunming, Hangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, and Shanghai.
According to the arrangement, the collection of tourists’ bio-metric data can now be done when they arrive in South Africa. Applicants can now send in their visa application to South Africa via courier. Tourists from China can now get multiple-entry visas with five-year validity. Business travellers from China can get a multiple-entry visa valid for ten years. This visa is issued within 5 days of their application.
Going by the new focus on China, a lot of local South African companies are hiring more guides who speak Mandarin. Most of these companies are translating their brochures, websites and other promotional materials into Mandarin. Some of them are gaining more computer knowledge and even contemplating using Chinese badges as their email signatures.
